Faust. Us. the painting was the publicity image for Stark Raving Theatre's production of Faust. Us. the play, the story of a man who sells his soul to the devil. I knew I wanted someone to look demonic for this painting, and, since Stark had made no requirements for who should sit for the piece, I looked up an ex-boyfriend...but not for the reason you might think! I knew that Robyn, a one-time actor, would respond well to direction and that he'd be able to call up just the devilish look I needed!
