This painting is my second attempt at portraying my dear friend Christine. I also created a very different portrait of her in 2005. Recently, she visited me in Portland and I took more photos of her since I don't feel like either the 2005 or the 2006 portrait quite capture what I am looking for with her.
This is the temptation with the faces of people I care about. I tell them that I want to paint them again and again to show them all the different ways they can be. In reality, I simply love to spend time thinking about them! |
