Why I talk about art / Pourquoi je parle de l’art

The people who don’t talk about art tend to be vocal about their non-verbalizing stance so I can’t help but make a rebuttal.  Les gens qui n’aiment pas parler de l’art ont tendance à être loquaces sur leur silence et c’est pour ça que je me sens obligée de parler de pourquoi je parle de l’art.

This is the first time I have sold a painting that isn’t a portrait, and that means that this sale is especially meaningful to me.  C’est la première fois que je vends un tableau qui n’est pas un portrait, ce qui fait que cette vente est particulièrement importante pour moi.

Selling a service instead of an object / Vendre un service plutôt qu’un objet

In the art world, there’s too much focus on selling the product of art and not enough interest in selling the service of art.  Dans le monde d’art, on se concentre trop sur la vente des objets et pas assez sur la vente des services qui entourent l’objet d’art.

Trying to please everyone is a good way to please no one and also a sure way of failing in business.

On too much and too little

A favorite argument for those who believe in copyright is that too little is just as dangerous as too much.
