How do you make so much art?

This is one of my most frequently asked questions.

There’s more on having a day job or not here and more on me not having kids here. The marketing calendar is discussed in a bit more detail in this post, and this video sums up all the ways I was making money with my art as of the beginning of 2016.

Sketching is part of my daily rituals, and often I draw my friends from photos they post on social media. This is the drawing I was making in the video…

...and this is one from a week or so before. It’s a portrait of my father watching television (with headphones so that he can hear it better). If you’re interested, I post my sketches on Instagram a lot.

Thank you!  It was fun recently when someone noted that I had a large body of work! They said it with a little bewilderment; you sure produce a lot.  I am going to take that as a compliment whether it was intended as such or not.  For me I would add that I have been painting a long time, building up work.  While I have a TV, I do not watch it.  I do not watch or attend sports events.  I do not attend many events or social gatherings.  I try to minimize the drama in my life.  I want to increase my art producing time so this was a great reminder.
You seem to streamline your art production.  I like the way you use the squeeze bottles. Is there a video where you review your set up?  That would be helpful to me.
Thank you again,

@Cathy: It’s interesting that I never thought of it as anything but a compliment, but you’re not the only one to mention that it might not be. I guess next time I’m asked I should find a way to ask about the intentions!

Re: my set-up, there’s this old video, but it doesn’t talk about the squeeze bottles. I’ll work on one! Thank you for the idea! smile

Hey Gwenn, Such a good video! I was thinking a lot about those before and I can agree on at least two major points that I decided upon long time ago - not having kids and TV. When you have a purpose like artists do - for me, at least, it would be hard to give up the time required for any of these. I’m sure there is possibility to change ones mind as having kids changes people, but I’m not likely to ever change my demissions. About not having a day job… this is where I’m headed as soon as I can smile
