A Brief History
Elise Mravunac, Becca Bernstein, and I have teamed up to exhibit work at the Littman Gallery this month, and the show opened tonight.

Laura and Jonette are currently running the Littman and they made A Brief History look fabulous!

Here, Inara is meeting Elise for the first time—but not her work. In one of those strange coincidences, Inara stumbled across some of Elise’s art at the Kennedy Center in DC where it’s currently on display. Inara saw the work and she noted that the artist was from Portland, but she had other things on her mind and didn’t think too much more of it…until a week later when she got a show card from me and it had an image of one of the pieces that she’d seen in DC on it!

Becca and I are collaborating on a new project for the coming year. I doubt we were discussing our upcoming series here, though we are really excited about it!

Curt lent me his painting for the show.

And Harper and Addie’s parents lent me their portraits too!

Jim let me borrow the “before” portrait (the one on the left), and I finished the “after” portrait for the show. The paintings are called Before And After: Heart Transplant, and Jim’s wife commissioned these paintings to mark his extraordinary transition.

David and I with our portraits from inClover. I originally made these pieces for a one-day show in a park (they were designed to wrap around trees). I was glad to have a wall big enough to exhibit them again!
A Brief History is open through the 30th, Monday through Friday from 12 to 4. The Littman Gallery is in PSU’s Smith Center (1825 SW Broadway, room 250).
