It’s done over the course of many years.

The studio I had in Virginia wasn’t just small: it was also unsafe, which is why my stay there ended up being so short. This video explains things more.

I wish I still had these pants but I wore them until they were rags. I need to dye a new pair these colors.

iPad harness for filming art

This rigging for filming is changing everything for me, video-wise. Super excited!

Trop contente!

Gwenn,

I enjoyed seeing all of your studio spaces, thank you! You have managed to continue on with everything despite having some cramped and buggey quarters at times. I know people long for the ideal space, bigger and better etc. A real artist’s studio is supposed to look like this or that right?.  Your video shows that a good space isn’t necessarily large or that it looks a certain way but simply that it has the right things in it that allow you to do what you want to do. So thanks. It was nice to see everything.
Libby
PS Glad that you got out of Virginia. Yuck-o on the smoking!

@Libby: All the studio tours on YouTube give people a false sense of “right” or “best” I think. That and, as you say, people just have weird ideas about what studios should be like—they have to be separate from your living space or have northern light. To all that I say WHATEVER! Thank you, always, for your commentary and encouragement!

Beautiful I loved seeing all your different spaces; you look like you’re in your element. I’m currently trying to get my studio looking more ‘studio-like’ but it seems like there are too many paintings waiting to take over the place!

@Chloe: I know that feeling all too well! It’s part of why my last series was made on small panels. I needed to be able to put them away completely in order to focus…

Gwenn,
I love seeing peoples studios. I used to work on the floor all the time, but now that I am not so fit and young I prefer tables and walls. But still I find your floor bridge-bench intriguing.

@Lisa: It’s always interesting to learn about how other people work and/or how their work space has evolved! Thanks for sharing!
