Why I do and don’t love it.

Parfois, je l’apprécie et, d’autres fois, ça ne me dit pas grand chose.

kate powell...

When I was about 18 my brother gave me a stack of mostly zen books; one of them was “The Wisdom of Insecurity” by Alan Watts.  I haven’t reread it in 20 years, but the book served me well.  I am comfortable with the uncertain in life; thank the god/dess, or in this crazy eco-nomy world I would be anxious all the time!

Thanks for sharing it, Kate!  I will definitely check it out.

Joe...

When you show a painting developing like this, is each photo a separate painting?

from a student,

Joe

Gwenn...

No, Joe, they’re usually all process shots of the same panel or canvas as I work on it.  I paint on it, and the next day I take a picture of what I did before working again.  Also, I don’t publish all the process shots I take, just the ones that I think make for interesting viewing.

In this particular video, the images show two separate panels.  The seventh photo is the beginning of the new panel.

Joe...

Thank you, I am 67 and a retired trucker. I use acrylics and all my teachers use oils, the info I get from your site and sites like yours is extremely helpful.

Gwenn...

I’m glad, Joe!  Bon courage in your artistic journey!
