Person, place, thing
Last spring, I did a Kickstarter for my upcoming project, the cryptically titled Series X. Though I’m still not ready to reveal the actual title or talk in too much detail about the project, I do have a number of exciting announcements to make about the series.
The evolutionary biologist, writer, and all around hero Joan Roughgarden will provide the introduction for the book that’s part of the project.
The series will show in September 2012 at Place, my favorite venue in Portland.
The Regional Arts and Culture Council has awarded me a grant to help make the project happen.

I first had an inkling of this project in late 2010. By the time the show opens and the book is published, I will have been working more or less intently on this series for just under two years. It may seem like a long time, but 23 months constitutes a speed record for this kind of undertaking. And, from my current vantage point halfway through the process, this timeline strikes me as mostly impossible…or, if I look at it another way, totally invigorating.
