Subjective is open in Portland…

Saturday 9 January 2010 - Comments / Commentaires (0)

Becca and I have been secretly plotting—er, I mean “collaborating”—for the past few years, and we’re finally ready to show the fruits of our labors.  For Subjective, we’ve painted ourselves and each other, as well as our parents, partners, and other relations.  The series consists of two views each of ten subjects: twenty paintings of loved ones immortalized once by a stranger and once by their kin.  With Subjective, we aim to prove that there is much more to portraiture than mere imitation.

The show is already open but Wednesday is the day to come by if eating, partying, and asking questions are all things you’re interested in doing while viewing the work.

Artist talk: Wednesday 13 January from 12:30 to 1:30 PM
Reception: immediately following the talk from 1:30 to 2:30 PM

To catch the show another time, visit the North View Gallery on a weekday between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  The show is open through 5 February.
