My talk at the American Association for the Advancement of Science!

2014 . 05 . 06 - Comments / Commentaires (3)

In September of last year, I was invited to speak at the AAAS in conjunction with an exhibition that featured my art, and the video of the talk I gave is now available!

For more about the event, check out this article on the AAAS site or this one on my blog. The paintings featured in this talk are from this series.

If you’re in Portland and you’re interested in hearing me speak this weekend, I’m participating in the panel discussion Stories from the field: How 5 artists forged their professional paths. Obviously, it’s a very different topic and format from my presentation at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, but the event is organized by the Regional Arts and Culture Council and the discussion promises to be lively! For more information about just what will be covered, go here.

10 May from 10 AM to 1 PM

Good job, Gwenn! I can totally see how the vlogging prepped you in part for this speech. (I am assuming you have some natural skill too:)) I like the idea of the overlap from scientist to creator and from creator to scientist. There is a bit of both in each person isn’t there?

@CJY: Also, it’s Will-A-mit, damn it! O, those east coasters…!

@Libby: Thanks! I think practice makes perfect—or in an case a whole lot better!
