I ♥ the Squish.

I moved a few weeks ago, but I moved just three blocks from where I used to be.

And I didn’t think those few blocks would make that much of a difference, but they do.

For one thing, I’m technically no longer a resident of the Pearl.  My new neighborhood is called the Squish.  (No, really, I didn’t make it up.)

All that means is that my place is slightly more removed from downtown and that it’s surrounded by old industrial buildings—sort of like how the Pearl used to be before it became the Pearl.

Because my development is just past where most of the recent developing stops, the streets out here are slightly less manicured.

And that means that things like this massive multi-thistle bush are allowed to flourish.

So much softness filling up the space in between the prickles.

So many wishes to catch.

Rob Robinson...

Beautiful photos, Gwenn! I like them all, but especially the 3rd and 6th ones. It’s good to hear that you are liking your new home; I bet it will show in your paintings.

Gwenn...

Thank you!  And yes, definitely: I think that my love of my new home is showing in so many areas of my life!
