On loving wrinkles / Aimer les rides

2010 . 11 . 22 - Comments / Commentaires (2)

My style has evolved over many years, but two things that happened early on in my development as an artist made me paint the way I do. One of those things involves wrinkles.

Mon style a évolué au fil des années, mais deux choses me sont arrivées au début de ma formation en tant qu’artiste qui m’ont inspirée à peindre comme je le fais. Une de ces choses implique les rides.

Hi Gwen, What a fun way to show how your work comes together… to see how you started with darker lines to mark the major wrinkle points. I was surprised and then I saw how the painting evolved to be so much softer and still vibrant. Wow!—Rachel

I’m always a bit surprised too!  Looking back at the process allows me to see things that I didn’t know I was doing…
