The concept for Critics Critiqued was a natural (if rather uninspired) progression from my student work.  For my senior project, completed earlier in 2003, I had painted portraits of my professors, making them the subjects of their own critique.  A few months later, I simply repeated the process with a new set of authority figures…before I discovered that they actually have no authority over me!
