Faust. Us. the painting was the publicity image for Stark Raving Theatre’s production of Faust. Us. the play, the story of a man who sells his soul to the devil.  I knew I wanted someone to look demonic for this painting.  Since Stark had made no requirements for who should sit for the piece, I looked up an ex-boyfriend…but not for the reason you might think! I knew that, having acted in high school, Robyn would respond well to direction and that he’d be able to call up just the devilish look I needed!

I chose my silliest friend, Bethy, for this image because I needed a smile.
