Artwork / 2006 / Yann (Paint the World)

The title for this painting, Paint the World, comes from my cousin’s own sketchbook. Yann was a graffiti artist, and he believed that painting the world was one way to make it a better place. I may go about it a different way, but I’m working on painting the world too, one face at a time. I would like to think that Yann would approve. He died in a motorcycle accident when he was 19. Another artist who inspires me, who passed away, and who has sat for me is this man.
