This self-portrait is part of my new miniature kick.  It’s on panel, a support that is well suited to working small because it reveals every nuance of every brushstroke.  Canvas’ texture, however minimal it may be, tends to blur marks slightly, softening my miniature strokes too much to be of interest to me.  Panel allows me to work small but still be bold and intense.
