In my half of this diptych, my father had just beaten me at chess, but the portrait is actually of the moment after the winning moment, when I asked him to replay his joy and ham it up for me a bit too so I could get the source photo. I don’t like to stage my photo-shoots usually, but sometimes it’s necessary for my art.
