owl and cat

Gwenn Seemel
The owl and The pussycat
acrylic on panel
6 x 12 inches (combined dimensions)

This diptych represents the famous owl and kitty of Edward Lear’s nonsense poem. Though I’ve painted cats now and again, I’d never painted an owl before this one. I have painted a number of other kinds birds: a bald eagle, a pigeon, some sparrows, some gulls, and some crows among others.
