Much of my earlier art was dreamed up in the presence of this pup. We’d go hiking together for hours, and Roo would sniff out birds and deer to chase while I would walk and think and discover things just as exciting to me. On the trail, I talked myself into approaching the subjects for Critics Critiqued, figured out the whole concept for Snow Days, and decompressed after meeting the subjects for Mutually Beneficial. I came home from one particularly satisfying hike with the ideas for this painting and this one too.
