I painted a dragon in 2013 for a commission, even though the client never requested one. I had been asked to represent a dream in which the patron was a child. Her favorite dog was at her side, and they were making their way to the moon together, but something about a dragon’s sinewy form felt right for the composition. Happily, the client adores the work!
