I’ve painted light eyes like the eagle’s at least once before when I did this portrait of my niece, Stephanie. Below is the text from the book Crime Against Nature that goes with this image.
Boys aren’t always bigger than girls.
Among eagles and raptors of all kinds, it’s common for the female to be larger than the male. This size difference allows a male-female pair to pursue different prey, ensuring that everyone has enough to eat.
