With the gorilla in the foreground, I was looking for a particular expression, one that I see a lot in my portraits of humans—like with this portrait. Below is the text from the book Crime Against Nature that goes with this image.
Boys don’t always partner with girls.
Since heterosexual mating among gorillas usually takes place between one male and the multiple females who associate with him, it is not uncommon for there to be sexually mature male gorillas without mates. These males tend to gather in bachelor groups where they may engage in homosexual exchanges.
