Before I ever met my WiniFriend, I encountered the delightfully strange ceramic figures in her studio window—the same studio window where Friend Request is on display right now. I emailed her through her website, like I do, and we arranged to meet. I came in hot with all the questions about her work, and in return I received only answers that led to new questions. I quickly decided that I had to visit Winifred regularly if were ever to have a chance to sort through everything together.
