Over the course of my career, I’ve suffered the over-the-top criticism of a number of women and it is tiring. I try to remember where it comes from as well as how criticism actually works.
The series that I talk about in the video is Critics Critiqued. I was painting portraits of Portland gallery owners in an attempt to get them to notice my art, but also as a way of establishing that I wasn’t going to let them intimidate me.

Art is the love of other humans made tangible across space and time. When a person can’t get a hug from a friend, art is there to make them feel seen and understood. Please share my work with your favorite people!
Maybe this post made you think of something you want to tell me? Or perhaps you have a question about my art? I’d love to hear from you!
