Hi, I’m Gwenn Seemel! If you’re wondering why and how I’m speaking two languages, it’s because I’m French-American.
My polka-dot cubist painting style has been delighting art lovers and inspiring artists since 2003. In 2017, a tech company recognized my contribution to the look of the new millennium by naming a photo filter “the Seemel.” This distinction would have astonished teenage Gwenn, who taught herself to use acrylic paint by copying Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
The pretty of my art—both its style and its imagery—is serious business. The idea is to draw you in with beauty, and then ask you to look again at the world and at the way you shape it.
