When I paint portraits for commission, I use the color palette that the subjects like most in order to reflect who they are. Not surprisingly, that leaves me with very few commissioned paintings that feature orange. But that happened with Mary and Tom who are pictured here, as well as with Harper and Addie and Beth. I would feel a little bad for orange if the few people who do love it weren’t so lovely!
