When painting a person’s portrait, it can be really hard to decide what expression best conveys who they are, but sometimes it’s obvious what to portray. In this case, it is as clear as the sound of their laughter! Of course, in the end, these choices are a matter of chemistry, history, and taste, as these two portraits of my father, one by me and one by another artist, prove.
