I first met Amy through a screen—and behind a child in rainbow leggings who was sitting on her lap. They were at the local library, where Hannah had organized an exibit of my work, and I was giving an artist talk via Zoom because I was still being COVID careful. Amy’s daughter had recognized in me a fellow rainbow-lover and insisted on coming to my artist talk, and Amy and I have been art-talking and other-talking as we go for walks ever since.
