The Summer of Jordi Perez by Amy Spalding
This sweet YA novel gives me hope that upcoming generations will not be as uptight or repressed as the current crop of adults. The book also includes an interesting plot line about portraiture and appropriation.
Know My Name by Chanel Miller
This memoir is about reclaiming personhood when you have been assaulted, and it is really good. I talk about the book more here.
