Artwork / 2004 / Jabuti Doug

When I first started painting, a full palette was overwhelming. I did a number of paintings with reduced palettes, including this one using just a purple, a yellow, a red, quinacridone gold, and titanium white. For the painting above from the Trickster Project, I distilled my palette for the face to greens to evoke a tortoise, which was the character that Doug was playing.
