Sara’s portrait is unique in the Trickster Project and in my portfolio as a whole. The beard is actually a second piece of canvas attached by velcro and thread to the painting. Sara was playing the male trickster Nasrudin: I thought it fitting to represent her fake beard in three dimensions. My work later permanently joined the third dimension with this painting.
