Rarely do I get to work so large—especially for a commissioned work—and, though miniature has its appeal, big is best! All the places on a person’s face where it seems like nothing in particular might be going on actually have a lot that’s worth painting about, that’s why I started out with my first professional series painting portraits of this size.
