Artwork / 2014 / Bunny Kisses

This is a portrait of me with my friend Claire, whom I first painted in 2005. At the time, I was doing a lot of paintings of friends, because they were willing subjects, and I needed to build my portfolio. This piece as well as this one were also part of that process.

Claire pointed out that there are twelve bunny ears depicted in this painting, one for each year we’d been friends when I painted it. I love the way art takes on different meaning with each person who sees it!
