Much like this mum painting from 2018, I originally painted this zinnia in a different orientation, but ended up rotating the piece ninety degrees when I realized that the image looked better that way. This is a trick that abstract artists sometimes use, and one that I never expected to have need of as a representational artist. I’m tickled to have done it!
