With each brushstroke in the making of this portrait, I was reaffirming my love for due process and everything else that makes a democracy possible. In that way, my portrait of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, one of the more famous targets of Trump’s cruelty, is similar to No Kings, though, of course, I have very different feelings about the people depicted in each piece.
