At the beginning of 2026, I was having trouble feeling at ease in my studio. This happens sometimes, so I did what I’ve done now and again when my creativity is sputtering: I returned to the image of a swirling doodle heart!

Over the years, I’ve drawn a version of this design as well as painting it for my coat and on a bag.
