Phil was part of the writers’ group at the library, AKA the first people to read the beginnings of memoirish how-to book that I wrote at the start of the pandemic. There’s a vulnerability to that—to sharing an unpolished and very personal text—and there’s also a reason why I kept sharing. I call that reason the Phil-Sonya-Scot-Hannah, named for the original group of writers.
