Though I love this GIF, in some ways it is a complete failure. Of all the animated artworks I’ve made, this is the only one where I was starting with an image that I painted specifically with the intention of turning it into a GIF. I wanted to have the contrite-looking German shepherd smile in that silly way some dogs do when they’ve been caught being naughty, but I never managed to get the guilty smile just right using my photo editing software, so I switched to this jaunty wink instead.
