Blog / 2015 / Living Artists Giving to the Public Domain

July 6, 2015

Both the u-pick farmers and the free artists understand that when you open yourself up to others, you might let in a few vampires but, for the most part, you’re inviting good people to get to know you better. You’re trusting others and helping them to appreciate your work, and you’re probably making a friend too.

I dig into how I make a living with my art as a free artist in You Share Good. I manage it even though people copy my art and institutions screw with me. I manage it because people love to be involved in the art they love.

For more about all this free culture stuff in general check out the Rencontres Mondiales du Logiciel Libre this summer in Beauvais, France. I’ll be speaking (in French) on Wednesday.

Maybe this post made you think of something you want to share with me? Or perhaps you have a question about my art? I’d love to hear from you!
