There have been a number of bee images over the years, starting with this one for Crime Against Nature. In 2013, I made this drawing and, four years later, it became this painting.

Bees was commissioned through Patreon by one of my lovely supporters. My favorite part of working on this composition was the wings. I enjoyed figuring out how to evoke their flashy transparency. You can see the making of the piece.
