This kitty belongs to my friend Curt, and, though it may not be obvious in the portraits, the two of them have a lot of similar facial expressions. Lauan was one of the first cats I painted, but I’ve painted many more since—both wild and tame. I even made one a main character in a series of illustrations for my book You Share Good, and she gets into all kinds of trouble, chewing on a camera and facing off with a parrot among other things.
